I love to work hard, even as a teenager I found myself a workaholic. I loved the stress and exhaustion. I thrived when my life was consumed by nothing but work. That is why as a CNA I was always the happiest because it was long work days with nothing but maybe a day or two off a week. That was my enviroment.
When I became a single parent I realized that it would be harder to keep that kind of lifestyle and be the parent that my daughter needed. I do not want to put her in daycare for over 40 hours a week and miss out on her growing up. That is when I realized I could be my own boss and make my own schedule.
I love doing side gigs because not only do I choose my own schedule but I make more the minuimum wage and can also still be that workaholic that I love to be. I work my schedule around my daughter's schedule so I can be present in her life for the most important moments.
My newest and so far favorite gig is doing Lyft. I get to drive others around and get paid for it. I knew this would be my gig after working for several cab companies. I get paid to venture out and listen to music. It does not get any better than that.
My other favorite gig is Papa Pal. I help seniors in their home by cooking,cleaning or running errands. I have always had a passion for the elderly so this is one I love to do.
Finally I do Handy Pro also. I clean other peoples homes. I have always love to clean other peoples homes and being to walk out the door knowing they are getting more time to spend with their family or even give themselves some self care time.
