I totally believe every person needs self care in their life. When you put yourself on the back burner everyday you eventually will get burned out out, literally. As a single mom this can happen fast.
I am a side gig worker. I do it because it gives me more flexibility as a single mom, It also always me the chance to work harder also. So it is very easy to get so involved in working I forget self care. I refuse to allow myself to think working is self care. So I have made a list of things I do to give myself "Me" time.
1. First off is taking advantaging of early morning hours. I love getting up before everyone else and just enjoying some coffee and doing whatever it is that I would love to do.
2. Second is my end of day routine of a hot bath. It helps me unwind. I put on some music, candles and even a glass of wine. Every few days I spoil myself with a good homemade facial. I am an Avon Rep so I have my favorite products.
3. Journaling or blogging is another favorite past time of mine. I just go into my office and block out the world and get lost into writing. Sometimes when I dont have anything to write I get out my adult coloring books and let my brain just relax for awhile.
4. Finally I have started a local moms group on Facebook. I plan on having coffee klutches, wine nights and book clubs to get out and socialize more.
